I was a huge fan of the writings of Roald Dahl when I was growing up. You could say that he turned me into the Anglophile that I am today. He was a brilliant writer that opened up whole new possibilities in the mind.
Well, being British and bit of a curmudgeon, Roald Dahl had his own writing shed where he wrote a lot of his great works. I find it interesting that no one was ever allowed in.
Well now, thanks to the glories of the internet you can take a virtual tour of his shed and get a glimpse inside the mind of the genius. I found myself lingering on all the things that he decided to place in his shed.
I know that when I set up my office, I put careful thought into where everything went. Everything is there for a reason.
Check out the Roald Dahl’s Writing Shed Virtual tour here.
The rest of the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is filled with interesting stuff about this dynamic and interesting author.
What’s your favorite Roald Dahl book?
Mine is the Fantastic Mr. Fox (which is being made into a movie by Wed Anderson).
Thanks to Boing Boing for pointing this out to me.
