April 17th. is the day the story of Doctor Who resumes, here in the United States. BBC America has just announced this officially as the date that they’ll premiere the much anticipated new season of Doctor Who. As fans await the arrival of the new doctor played by Matt Smith, they were also sorry to see David Tennant’s Doctor go.
Variety magazine is reporting some peeks into what the next series of Doctor Who holds for audiences. Apparently the TARDIS will be visiting; 1800′s France, 16th century Venice and Britain of the future. Karen Gillan will be the new assistant to help the Doctor travel through time and space. While, I may never travel through time and space,
I know where I will be on April 17th, in front of my television! However, if you are lucky enough to be in Britain you get to see the new series of Doctor Who, a bit earlier. The UK air date for the premiere of Doctor Who Series 5 is set for April 3.

Anglotopia was founded by Jonathan and Jackie Thomas for people who love Britain - whether it's British TV, Culture, History or Travel - we cover it all. Anglotopia was started to get us back to the UK for a trip and it did that in 2009. Now, the goal is for Anglotopia to make our dreams of traveling to the UK whenever we want a reality.
Kudos to BBC America for airing it so close to when it airs in the UK. This will definitely help their fight against piracy.
No, it won’t. Most people will not wait two weeks. They’ll download it. It seemed like BBC had learned their lesson at the end of last year, cutting it down to a one day delay between UK and USA, but raising it back to 14 days is a big mistake.
people are not going to wait i can see doctor who around 11 o’clock est here in the east coast the same day it airs and in great quality as well with any divxden link
you cant fight piracy, it will always exist. People will not wait to see the new doctor who, I know I wouldnt if I acually had a computer, but what can be done is to embrace the fact that the show is popular. If people like it so much that they are willing to go against the law to see it, it has to be good.
Honestly, they wouldn’t need to fight piracy if they just opened up their online player to us IPs. Honestly I can see not wanting Bandwidth problems, but then, just let it go through BBCA’s website.
