This week on the British TV Podcast, guest host Howard fills in as he and Ryan examine news about British TV, what’s on this week both in the UK and USA, DVD releases, review “The End of Time Part 2,” “Day of the Triffids,” “Hamlet,” “The Turn of the Screw,” “Nevermind the Buzzocks” and take a look at the state of modern sketch comedy in Britain and why we don’t have more of it here in the US.

Ryan is an American living in Seattle. He became a fan of British television during the Monty Python invasion of the early 1970s. In 1993 he moved to London for a year just so he could see British television first-hand. Since moving back to the States eighteen years ago he has continued to keep up on British TV by trading tapes back and forth. In the late 1990s he worked three years for About.com as their British TV Guide and has been interviewed twice by BBC Radio. He started the British TV Podcast With Chrissy and Ryan in 2009.
