The very clever folks over at the Londonist website have mapped London’s funniest areas. Using only the London A-Z guide, and a 1998 RadioTimes Guide to Comedy the Londonist pinned famous television sitcom addresses. Only locations that could be verified or given a specific made-up location were included and the ones of a vague London reference were left out.
The pins are color-coded by decade and the interactive map is a fascinating guide to all things funny. The RadioTimes even pointed out that on the map the ladies of Ab Fab lived next door to Jean and Lionel of As Time Goes By. Jean always worried about what new neighbors were moving into Holland Park! Many exact locations are given including the Black Books storefront and the home used for exterior shots in Spaced.
Thoroughly engaging and wonderfully time-wasting, the Londonist Map of Funniest Areas is almost as fun as watching one of the pinned shows. To see what the Londonist learned about mapping funny London click here to read their findings.
