Preview of new ‘Inbetweeners’ series; rumor of star’s future on show

The Sun has posted a “prequel” video for the next series of “The Inbetweeners” (note: very brief nudity and lots of bleeped language.)

Basically, the guys are just back to school for fall term, talking about their rather pathetic summer and how they’re going to dominate their final year, and giving Will enormous crap (pun intended) for the events of last series’ finale. The new series is scheduled to premiere on Channel 4 in September.

In related news, there have been tabloid reports that Simon Bird, who plays Will, is holding out for more money before shooting a feature-length episode of the show later this month based on the boys taking a road trip to Spain. According to The Sun, Bwark Productions is now sending out casting notices for a character that would either recast Will or replace him on the show. However, show writer Iain Morris has refuted the claims on Twitter, and keep in mind that this is The Sun.

FYI, a great way of keeping up with the latest chatter online about British TV from the actors and production side itself is by keeping an eye on my Brit TV Twitter list.

About Dana Franks

I'm a Brit at heart but was somehow accidentally born in a tiny town in southern Tennessee. I've wandered around a lot, mostly due to my career in new media for local TV stations, I currently live in the Midwest and use my TARDIS to watch British TV - more than American, really. Basically, anything with a panel show is probably a fave. I seem to get therapy out of hearing British comedians rant. Also love Britcoms and, of course, Doctor Who and Torchwood.
