The Guardian is reporting today that Oscar Award winning director, Sam Mendes is supposedly in talks to direct the next James Bond movie. Mr. Mendes is known for directing character dramas, most famous being American Beauty, which he won and Oscar for. As of this time, Mendes’ people are only telling the press that the director is currently in talks, and that he is not yet committed to directing the next Bond film.
It is speculated that if Mendes, does decide to direct the 23rd Bond movie, that production could start as early as this June, with the film being released to audiences the following year. MGM, which owns the James Bond franchise, is currently in deep economic trouble. They are currently trying to sell the studios, which may jeopardize how and when the next Bond movie will be made.
