Check out our Newest Advertiser – Fascinators NYC

We’d like to welcome our latest advertiser to the site – Fascinators NYC - who specialize in making very English fascinators.

I’ll let them tell their fascinating story:

In 2007, while shopping for a fascinator to wear to a family wedding in Ireland, Jo came to the conclusion that they were not available in the stores so thought she would check on line. No American company was offering these gorgeous accessories – this cannot be – the USA is first with everything!! So, after sending off for hers from Australia and having it shipped to Ireland to wear to the wedding, she decided to bring them here asap. After enlisting a few close and talented friends offering all different types of skills, The New York Fascinator Company was born.

Jo is English and was living in NYC with her family for work for 3 years at that time, her husband Patrick is Irish and fascinators were the fashion trend of the moment for wedding guests in Britain and Ireland.

Laura, a longtime friend, is American and Jo and Laura became close friends when Laura was posted with her family to live in London for her husbands job from 2000 – 2003.

We have both moved around since beginning the venture – the shipping is now done from RI where Laura now lives and Jo has moved back to London and sources and sends the stock ready for sale (most items are now handmade in London) and takes care of the marketing and correspondence. So we are a true Anglo-American company in every sense!

Some of my favorite fascinators from our range right now are Catherine from the Bridal section. It is quite new and selling well, I like its fullness and richness and the folds on it are unusual. It is handmade in London and also comes in black.

For a general formal, easy to wear and all age fascinator, I LOVE the Anna. It has been sooo popular for us and it now comes in quite a few colors and they are all gorgeous. It looks good on any age group and is a great item to keep as an accessory in every color!

When we launched the company, there was a classic fascinator look of swirls and feathers set on combs, and with this in mind we launched the Olivia and the Sophia fascinators. They are main stays in the fascinator world and have a classic design about them – they will suit most people and will always impact a look by drawing the eye. Olivia has been featured in Allure magazine and Sophia in Cosmogirl.

For a tight budget, my 2 favorites have to be the Queenie and Maggie. Queenie has been very popular for us and is a mixture of feathers and beads on a comb and its orange color is striking. The Maggie is another must have in all colors item. It is so striking and easy to wear as it is set on a clip and can be worn to formal or fun events or on a daily basis at the side or back of the head – it is so fluffy and fun and great for all ages and a great price too.

The one fascinator I could not leave out from this favorites list has to be the Jaqueline. It is swirls and feathers and similar to a bow in shape and actually, does not photograph aswell as some of the others so it is difficult to show online and I wish every outlet has one on show as it is so rich and lush and truly striking!

Our constant best-sellers are Mary (petit and handmade in England, royal inspired), Beatrice (loved by brides everywhere), Anna (lots go to stores and sell easily for them), Tiffany (royal inspired Kate-esq look for sure, handmade in England) and Zara (another mainstay floral and fluffy versatile and so pretty!).
