A short documentary about the life of the Tower of London’s Chief Beefeater recently aired in the UK and I thought it was an interesting look at the people behind Britain’s pomp and ceremony. Since it’s not available anywhere else and likely won’t be, we threw it up on YouTube for you to enjoy.
Check it out below – it’s about half an hour long – and it’s fascinating.
A documentary crew recently followed the Chief Beefeater at the Tower of London as he goes about his responsibilities right before he retired this past January. A very interesting look into the people that keep Britain’s Heritage going.

Thank you so much for posting this! Brought back some great memories of a trip we took to London in January 2002. We visited the Tower during the day and returned to witness the Ceremony Of The Keys in the evening. My daughters were with me and my husband, they were grade school aged then and the guards that night absolutely went out of their way to make it special for them. A few mentions of ghosts and letting them knock on a huge door. It was truly a memorable evening.
