We’re getting various reports that British Airways is going to reject UNITE’s proposals today so it’s looking very likely that there will be a British Airways strike.
Still no word on BA strike dates yet – but many are reporting that it could start as soon as next Wednesday.
There is a deadline at 5pm UK time at which point we will no for sure what’s going to happen.
If the strike does go forward, British Airways plans to operate as normally as they can as they have trained thousands of BA employees to work as cabin crew. They also plan to charter aircraft to fill the void.
Stay tuned to Anglotopia for the latest British Airways strike news.
UPDATE: The Union UNITE has given British Airways until tomorrow (March 10th) to consider their latest cost cutting offer. We will keep you posted as soon as we have more information.

Anglotopia was founded by Jonathan and Jackie Thomas for people who love Britain - whether it's British TV, Culture, History or Travel - we cover it all. Anglotopia was started to get us back to the UK for a trip and it did that in 2009. Now, the goal is for Anglotopia to make our dreams of traveling to the UK whenever we want a reality.
Gah! As someone who has long-planned tix on BA coming up in about a week I’m eagerly awaiting more news…
What’s wrong with these spoilt people – millions are unemployed around the globe and these yobs withdraw their labour, Come to China/Asia and get your cabin crew , they do a great job and are the most professional, well mannered and well groomed crew I have seen. 7 million graduates a year to choose from all willing to work (hard) – let Virgin take BA over then sack the lot – these unions are a carry over from the 60s and will make the UK a 3rd World Country again.
I am very worried as i have booked flights with BA next week from heathrow for a birthday treat for my huspand. We are meant to be flying to New York, but now we are left in Limbo as to where we stand. I have even upgraded our flights,i wish i had booked with Virgin, if they strike & we don\t go, i will never book with them again. They are fast going down the pan, & soon there will be no more British Airways….what a waste.
There’s still a good chance there won’t be a strike and BA plans to continue flying using strikebreaking crews. If your flight is cancelled you’ll be rebooked or given a full refund. I hope there is no strike and you guys can go on your trip.
