They promised to give refunds if the strike was cancelled. They refused to rebook anyone on any other airline. Tickets through other airlines were selling out extremely quickly… waiting would have made it impossible to get another ticket, essentially.

I will look into getting a refund. I should imagine they should try to be helpful considering the circumstance, yet I am not hopefully.

The refunds office also does not have a phone line.

You should be able to at least get back your taxes and fees and part of the your ticket. BA told everyone not to do anything until they said so – if the strike had gone ahead you would have gotten a full refund or BA would have rebooked you on another airline.

This is unfortunate news for me. I have already booked another flight through another airline. My chance of being refunded at this point are next to zero. BA has essentially stolen 800 dollars for me. I will never fly with them again

This is great news, I am not flying British Airways this week, my flight is through KLM but I wasn’t looking forward to going to the airport on Monday morning and finding it packed with frustrated and desperate passengers trying to get on flights with other airlines. I am really happy for all the people who will get to enjoy their Christmas as planned this year and I hope that after the holidays BA and the unions can sort this out in a civil way.

We are flying on Dec. 24 to Johannesbourg and I was really worried that the flyight will be cancelled.
