New Hi-tech Hotel in London Opens in April

The newly renovated Eccleston Square Hotel plans to become London’s most high-tech hotel when it opens in April.

Architects Woods Bagot have designed bedroom interiors with 46-in (117-cm) 3D LED TVs, HD movie and 3D channels, 3D Blue Ray DVD players, iPod docks, free super-fast wi-fi, free London calls and worldwide VOIP calls at cost.

The 40 bedrooms will also have fingertip control pads for room lighting, curtains, TV, soundtrack, electronic wake-up and bedtime settings. The £12,000 Hastens beds will be electronically adjustable and feature massage programmes.

Marble bathrooms will have a TV in the heated mirror and ‘smart glass’ walls which can be switched to be opaque. The hotel’s meeting and events spaces will feature a 3D Media Wall and video conferencing facilities.

The hotel is near Victoria Station, which includes the London terminus for the Gatwick airport express train. Rooms at the hotel, which opens in April, will cost from £250 per night.

It sounds cool, but in my opinion the more gadgets you have in the hotel room, the more they break. It would be fun to stay there in the first year but after that I doubt that everything will continue to work properly.

      Hi Brad,

I agree with your comment about gadgets in hotel rooms and in respect of this I’m pleased to offer assurances to yourself and other readers that we are ensuring that the technology is not fiddly or confusing, as it often can be. Quality and praticality are also hugely important to us.

      Kind Regards
