A reader sent this to me last night and I had to share it.
It’s a travelogue from 1946 all about post-war London. Amazing!

I’m very fond of Britain’s railways and always enjoy a chance to travel on them. This video was shared on the Anglotopia twitter feed a couple weeks ago and I thought it was worth sharing with everyone.
It’s an old British Rail Advert that does a pretty good job of selling the British Railways as being incredibly awesome. Many like to think that THESE were the days.
Who knew Britain’s railways could make such wonderful poetry!
While we stayed in Updown Cottage, I took the chance to use my iPhone to take a video tour of Updown Cottage in Shaftesbury, Dorset, so that you guys could get an idea of just how lovely the place really is.
If you’re looking to get away from it all and stay in your own Self Catering Accommodation in Dorset, then Updown Cottage is a MUST.
The tour is about 7 minutes long, please forgive the wind at the beginning and the Blair Witch style camerawork. Updown Cottage deserves better!
If you’d like to stay in Updown Cottage – then check out their website for details and to check on availability. Happy Travels!
This is a pretty cool old video of London – rare color footage of everyday life in 1927.
Enjoy!
Editor’s Note: Last week’s video was made by the same people and their videos are so awesome that I just had to share another lovely one. This one is of the Flamborough Peninsula in Yorkshire. Enjoy!
Ambient Plains – David Lanz (HD / High Definition) from voyagehd on Vimeo.
The massive peninsula of Flamborough is situated on the East coast of Yorkshire, England, and forms one of the most impressive landscapes of this stretch of coastline. The headland extends into the wild North Sea by approximately 6 miles.
To the North spectacular Chalk cliffs stand proudly up to 400 feet high. They are home to one of the largest nesting sea bird colonies in England. To the East are coves, sea caves and stacks. Rocky outcrops reach out into the sea and have claimed many a passing ship in the past. To the South the cliffs become smaller, but look out across Bridlington Bay.
Music is from the album A Cup of Moonlight by David Lanz.

Anglotopia was founded by Jonathan and Jackie Thomas for people who love Britain - whether it's British TV, Culture, History or Travel - we cover it all. Anglotopia was started to get us back to the UK for a trip and it did that in 2009. Now, the goal is for Anglotopia to make our dream of living in the UK a reality.
