Easy Way to Save for a Trip to England

Came across this cool product a couple weeks ago. It’s called the Cash Passport and it’s from Travelex, the currency exchange firm. Basically it’s a debit card denominated in the local currency of the country you are traveling to.

Instead of carrying your regular bank ATM with you abroad, you can fill this debit Mastercard with all your money and have easy access to it while abroad. The card is insured in case it’s stolen so you would get your money back right away. You can put local currency on the card, so it’s like having a de facto British bank account. You can see Payday loans compared here.

I think it’s brilliant and I called them today to get some more answers from them.

Where can you get them?

You can get them directly from TravelEx Currency Exchanges or order them online at Travelex’s website.

How do you add funds to the card?

You can add funds whenver you want, at a Travelex Currency Exchange or you can add money over the phone. They’ll take the money out of your bank account.

How much does the card cost?

Cost of card varies, depending on where you buy it. It doesn’t cost anything extra if you buy it online, directly from Travelex.

If you want to put money away for a future trip and hedge against future exchange rate rises, then this is a great tool to buy. I’m going to pick one up as soon as I can.
