New Column: British Landscapes Photography from Derek Fogg

Hi and welcome to British Landscapes Photography.  I’m Derek Fogg, landscape photographer and  I am delighted to have been given the opportunity of sharing with you my images of the landscapes of the British Isles.  Although not an anglophile, being born and raised in the North of England, we do have something in common as I also have a passion for Britain particularly the wonderfully diverse landscape we have here in the British Isles.

My  photographic journey round these islands started just over 10 years ago and since then I have created a portfolio of landscape images from various regions of the country.  Most of you will have visited our major tourist locations of London, York, Edinburgh, Bath but over the coming weeks and months I will be sharing with you locations you may not have seen before, and some you may never have even heard of but will certainly want to know more about in the future.  The National Parks, Heritage Coasts, lakes, lochs  and mountains will be just some of the locations featured in future posts.

To give you a taste of what’s to come here’s a couple of my images from some of my favourite areas of the country.

The Snowdonia Horseshoe – © Derek Fogg – British Landscapes Photography

This first image was captured from the hillside just outside Capel Curig in mid November a couple of years ago and shows the first snow on the mountain tops shortly before one of the worst winters here for many years.

The second image features Wester Ross in the Scottish Highlands.  This view being captured from the roadside one evening at Poolewe.

Want to see more of our wonderful landscape then by all means please join me, by following these regular posts has I continue my photographic journey round the British Isles.
