England was in the news last week because a humble metal detector treasure hunter found a haul of Anglo-Saxon gold that is practically priceless. It’s being hailed as the biggest discovery since Sutton-hoo and will shed new light on the lives of the original Anglo-Saxons, who controlled England before the French… I mean the Normans invaded in 1066.
