To quote Jim:
Don't tell me about the press. I know exactly who reads the papers: The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country; The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country; The Times is read by the people who actually do run the country; The Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country; The Financial Times is read by people who own the country; The Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country; And The Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is.
Sir Humphrey: Prime Minister, what about the people who read The Sun?
Bernard: Sun readers don't care who runs the country, as long as she's got big tits.

Im a student at university and purchase the daily mail as often as I can. As far as I know I am the only person in my block of around 70 students to go out of my way and spend 55p a day to read the news. Throughout my further education in college I would either read the independant or metro depending which copy of newspaper was most recently left in the common room. The daily mail is entertaining and covers sports pretty well in my opinion.

Being in the USA not England, I have to read the online versions to catch up with what's going on back home.

I would rather pull my eyes out than read the fascist rag that is the Daily Mail. The online version is a little milder but the magazine is very far right blaming everything on immigrants. Stupid idiots.

I tend to read the Sun (which can be a little irritating too). The Mirror's web site is so bad I don't even bother. I like the Times, Guardian and Independent but for the most part stick with the BBC news website and BBC America news.

Well, I'm a university student and I tend to read either the Telegraph or the Times. The Telegraph can be awkward to read though, because of its broadsheet format.

I'm a Guardian reader personally, it apparently has one of the youngest readerships of the national newspapers, or so my Journalism lecturer tells us every so often. The Mail is generally considered to be the perfect example of Journalism that knows it's audience among journalists despite being poisonous rubbish, and the Sun is really just a platform for Murdoch to play out his power games. I've never been one for the "gutter press" as they're known, though I generally don't mind reading the Sun if it's around, it's slightly less political than some other Tabloids.

Hey, I'm a Sun reader - and it's not for the "boobs".

Right, it is a tabloid - but they are fearless. They will stick their necks out and publish. You generally see these same stories a couple days later in the broadsheets.

The Sun is also very good re football (soccer). Again, they tend to get the story first and get it right.

Frankly, the Sun also says what we're all thinking - but too scared in PC Britannia to say out loud.

The Sun has just endorsed Cameron - like they endorsed Blair in 97. Bye, bye, Gordon!
