Time Out London launches Awesome New iPhone App

Time Out has finally launched a London iPhone app. For years Time Out has left a void for restaurant and event happenings in the iPhone app market. Well that void has been filled, with the launch of the new Time Out Londo iPhone app. Londoners can now rely on their favorite guide, right from the palm of their hand.

From the Guardian today:

“Time Out has been a part of Londoners’ lives for some 40 years, so why does this useful app come so late? Time Out’s smaller and slightly hipper rival Unlike London has offered an app since 2008 – although it has lost a bit of its steam lately.”

This new iPhone app has everything one would expect from Time Out. One of the many unique features is helping find a place to eat. If you want to try a new restaurant, the app can search it by area, cuisine, price or critics’ pick. As this is an iPhone app, you can simply call to make a reservation very easily.

Along with other features, the app tracks events. You can select an event, and set an alarm so you will not miss it. If you want to invite friends with you, there is a function to post your plans on Facebook and Twitter. The most unique feature of this app may be it’s “Inspire Me” function. If you are unsure of what you would like to do, give your iPhone a shake and let the app decide for you. It will pick an event at random.

Although its nice to see Time Out having an pplication, why didn’t they go the whole hog and add Augmented Reality ? They have the right profile, the right town, and yet they only got halfway to a great application
