Editor’s Note: Our latest contributor to Anglotopia is William McAdoo – a prominent east coast foodie blogger who loves all things British. He’s going to keep us up to date on the best British Products. Check out his blog here.
I think it all began when I was a child and discovered the PBS-TV series “Upstairs Downstairs”. The formality. That chesterfield couch in the morning room. I wanted one when I grew up and owned a house.
Then I got a job in travel. After Italy we went to London. It was LOVE at first sight. Since then I’ve been back many times. A picnic in St. James Park. Shopped Harrod’s. A drink with the fashionistas at Electric Brasserie. Sauntered through the banquet hall at Windsor, where all those glittering state dinners take place.
I pack half a suitcase on trips to London now and leave my knapsack empty. I spend hours at Boots the Chemist. When I am back home my friends ask me: who is Trevor Sorbie? Where do you get this stuff? Fortnum and Mason. Smythson. Trufitt and Hill. These treasures keep the London in me when I am not in London.
So, I am William and William Buys Brit. Because I like to introduce my American friends to the joys of U.K. life.
I also enjoy dual E. U. citizenship and look forward to writing and getting to know everyone.

Anglotopia was founded by Jonathan and Jackie Thomas for people who love Britain - whether it's British TV, Culture, History or Travel - we cover it all. Anglotopia was started to get us back to the UK for a trip and it did that in 2009. Now, the goal is for Anglotopia to make our dreams of traveling to the UK whenever we want a reality.
