  2. Sign me up. How about favourite nugget(s)? Culture, language, food, history, scenery, landmarks, humour, good telly and great film. UK has it all.

Fabulous theme! Now I just need to settle down with my Tetley’s and crumpets and start enjoying this book!

My favourite nugget of info about Britain is this: you’re never more than 78 miles from the sea, wherever you are in Britain.

  6. I think the book would be a great hit on the market.

  7. I’ll second you on the music bit – writing the music section was one of the funnest parts of putting together Britannia In Brief. I hope we weren’t too hard on Cliff Richard!

We hope you enjoy the book.

One of my favorite things about the UK is how intelligent and well-informed the taxi drivers are. Never in NY would you be able to have a challenging discussion about world politics on the way to the airport.

    Barbara Woodhouse. Walkies!

Cheerio, I love it. Can’t wait to read the whole thing. I’ve been referring to shrimp as “prawns” ever since a trip to London. Prawns were everywhere that year. Looking forward to more nuggets. Those Brits crack me up.

  11. Thanks a lot, Jonathan. Leslie and I had great fun doing this! Anglotopia’s a fab blog. We’re glad you enjoyed the book.

Can’t wait to steal away from time to time and chuckle over a Brief slice of Britannia. My son loves to test the waters by saying “I’m gonna kick your ‘boot’”…(‘Boot’ is NOT a bad word after all!)

Sounds smashing. Would make a good gift to some I know.

Oh finally – the “Do’s and Taboo’s of the PUB-culture” – I really enjoyed the explanations on how to behave in an English pub! – Thank you. Also the best I have learned lately is the wide yse of the word “Please” – you seldom hear an American say: would you please so kind as to…. – He/she often simply says – I
ll take this. or that – Og, give me x or Y… Yes I cannot wait to see the and/or get the book. Keep up the good work. Many thanks
