After 21st Century archaeologist Alice Tanner discovers a labyrinth carved into a cave in the South of France she begins to have dreams involving a 13th century French woman named Alais. The young Alais holds the secrets of the labyrinth, as well as The Book of Words, The Book of Potions and The Book of Numbers which were passed to her from her father when she was just seventeen in 1209. This information places the young girl’s life in danger – even her own sister Oriane is willing to kill her for ownership of the mysteries.
As Alice’s dreams of Alais become more real she too discovers her life is in danger as she continues to unravel Alais’ clues from the 13th Century. Alice trusts no one, as she continues her quest for the mysteries of the labyrinth. Although Alice and Alais are in different time periods, they are both working towards the same goal. Will each woman uncover the clues of the labyrinth in time?
Based on the Kate Mosse bestseller, Labyrinth starring Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey) and Tom Felton (The Harry Potter movies) airs on Channel 4 March 30th and 31st.
